Part Two I Guess

Before I forget, run out of time and never post about Florida again here's the last of the recap pictures from a month ago. (Does that show you how busy/forgetful I can be?) Well here's the last of the Disneymundia pictures, the number 1 beach in the United States and the Rays Baseball game where I actually got to touch some sting rays! (And I was so brave I only screamed about 4 times.)

A Disney Recap

So I never really got the chance to tell you all how Disneymundia was. But all I need are a few words to explain it: magically amazing. We went crazy hard core and ran ourselves ragged and tired just on the first day, riding every single ride in two parks. We decided to take it a little bit easier the next few days otherwise we'd probably die before making it to the beach. About 15 minutes into Animal Kingdom on our very first day I had a fan girl moment when I got to meet Russel and Doug from UP!

Other highlights from the day include our very first Disney ride- Dinosaur, like the movie. Probably one of the slowest not very actiony rides, but since it was the first ride Carli and I had been on in probably 5 years at least, we were scared out of our minds!

We also went to Disneymundia at the right time of year because the lines were so short! The whole trip and our longest wait was 30 minutes. I waited longer in the testing center lines at BYU than at Disneymundia. But since the lines were so short, we were able to go on rides 5 times in a row if we wanted to. Expedition Everest? You can bet that we did that one at least 5 times.

And you can't forget about the wilderness exploration that we did. Don't mind me, I'm just 40 feet away from a baby elephant and making friends with the wildlife (if goats can count as wildlife, that is.)

I Love Animals too Much

Disneyworld? Amazing. I'm not sure if there's words to really describe it. I felt like a little kid with all of my excitement. So Disneyworld has several different parks to it, one of them being Animal Kingdom which is like a zoo but they try to make you feel even more like you're in Africa. I boarded the bus that took us out into the wilderness and the first word out of the tour guides mouth, "Jambo!" I love Disney.

We Like To Party

Well we had a St Patricks party at my place a few weeks ago (I know Easter has already passed and I haven't posted this yet) so instead of trying to tell you how much fun we had, I'll just post the pictures. Thanks to everyone that came. PS: For those trying to think of a fun activity to add to a party, homemade photo booth was a hit!

There Was A Festival

So as everyone knows whether you went to it, saw it on Facebook or Instagram or some other form of social media, Saturday was the Festival Of Colors. Which meant lots of people in Utah Valley. Which meant lots of random visitors coming down to every store, restaurant and gas station in Provo and Orem. I ran into a girl I went to high school with. I asked her what she was doing down in Provo for the day. She answered back that she had just gotten back from Festival of Colors.

"Huh," I thought to myself, "they cleaned off really well for just having had been attacked with colored dirt." And then right as I thought that, I saw a group of about 15 people walk right past us in the store and go straight into the restroom to go clean off. They came out looking like somewhat clean people. So then I went to go see the damage in the bathroom and it looked like a crime scene. So dirty. I was so upset. People couldn't go clean off in their own bathrooms because they don't want theirs to get dirty. So they come and dirty other places bathroom. Thanks, but no thanks.

I don't want you all to think that I am a Scrooge when it comes to Festival of Colors because I actually really loved it. I went last year and got attacked with color (see picture below if you don't believe me.) But maybe I don't believe in getting everyone else's things or restaurants or stores dirty with the chalk that is literally falling out of my hair every time I move my head. (This is a big thanks to being right in the middle of the mosh pits when the throwing was going on.)

Perhaps I don't believe in dirtying peoples things because of the car ride home (or common decency, but we'll say it was the car ride.) The guy I was kind of seeing (or whatever we were) was living out of his car at this point in his life. He gladly drove us down there but he wanted to make sure his car didn't get terribly dirty because it was also his house. We brought garbage bags to cover the seats in the car, brought about 1000 baby wipes to clean off with, brought a change of clothes and changed in the middle of a parking lot even before we got into his car.

So soapbox over. Just clean off before you go anywhere. It's really not that hard.

Seesterly Love

The little sister came down to visit me for the weekend a few weeks ago. (I know I'm horrible at updating my blog. I feel like everything I post is after a few weeks. That's what happens when life get's crazy I guess.) But it was great to have her down here. I got to introduce her to everything she hadn't done in Provo yet. We went shopping of course and bought her some sun glasses for her trip to California next week.

And now to the good stuff. If you haven't been to the Chocolate House on State Street, GO! I love it so much. Thank goodness for girlfriends and sisters that are willing to go with you when no one else will. We got the ever so popular cazookie and a mint brownie and let's just say that we ate until we hated ourselves. But who can blame us when it tastes so good!

Then it was Comedy Sportz time. Neither of us had been there and it was hilarious. Definitely a great idea and a fun time. Thanks Cece for coming to visit me. And thanks for ditching our woman date this weekend, but hey I guess prom is important.

Another Year Older

So this post was a little while back but it still is a story to be told. A few weekends ago was Noke's birthday. So we do what everyone loves best: eating and karaoke. I was afraid I wasn't going to make it up for the birthday lunch because after luau practice it began to snow...and snow hard. It looked like a blizzard. Thank you modern technology for being able to predict when there would be a break in the storm, because I made it up to Salt Lake in one piece. Lunch with the entire family (and when I say entire, I mean some aunts and cousins too) went pretty well.

Afterwards we went shopping and I have never seen a guy so picky in my entire life. "No I don't want those shoes, the logo is yellow and it just won't match with my outfits. No these shoes just aren't me. No I don't like that color. No I don't like how they lace up. No I don't the way they look on me. I don't know what I would wear this pair with." After finally going to 2 different malls and spending about 4 hours shopping, we finally found him two pairs of shoes that he liked.

And then the highlight of the night was karaoke time. Noke's little brother came with us but fell asleep at the table by about 11. I can't really blame him though, he's only 13 but he looks like he's at least 18.

I won't lie though, I was partially tramautized when Noke and the boys got up to sing Bootylicious by Destiny's Child. Um...please boys just stop. But it sure made for some great moments. And no one could forget when the lady running the karaoke club would sing every other song. And we're not kidding when we say every other song. Noke just couldn't bear her having all of the limelight on his birthday so he ended up singing with her. It was bad, let's just leave it at that.

Here's to another year of life.

Happy Working Song

It feels like it has been forever since I've blogged. But have no fear! I am back, but the sad thing is no big juicy exciting stories.
But its a new year, new semester, new major. Same old work, new people though.
Our fridge? Missing a leg. I don't know why that was important to post about.

But work really is a lot of fun. We really do have some great times. Taco Tuesdays are always crazy. Keeps us busy. But what about the other days of the week? We get so slow sometimes. So I think Mustache Mondays will help keep us entertained when we have nothing to do. I think I'll email the CEO of the company and have him implement it into the new dress code.

Les Miserables

Within the first week of the release of Les Mis I had the opportunity to go see it twice. I went opening day with my family and then about a week later I went with my coworkers. Aldon, one of my coworkers said that we should all go see it together as a group, but that we should tell the theater workers that majority of our group was hearing impaired so they would have to put on the captions and it could be like a big sing-a-long in the theater. Too bad we didn't do it. Well we didn't need the lyrics anyways. We knew them by heart...except for the new songs and parts that they put in.
So after we got out of work at 10:15 we hurried over to the theater, bought our tickets and popcorn and the movie started. Oh how I love Les Miserables. I've seen it live before once and it was amazing. I thought the movie was pretty good, it's obviously not going to be like it is when it is live, but I thought they did a pretty good job with it.

My coworkers that hadn't seen it before or didn't even know what it was about loved it. All of us were crying. I was pretty proud of my boys then. They do have a heart! A few weeks later and we're still all singing Les Mis at work.
So for those of you who haven't seen Les Mis, go see it! I'm pretty sure you'll like it.
And if you can't make it to the movies anytime soon have no fear! This video is pretty much the movie in 10 minutes...all by one man.

Quick Update

To the creeper who kept prank phone calling my work last night, you made work interesting for those working. At first we thought that our phones were broken and that's why they kept ringing. Then we wondered if it was the Rubio's Ghost. The Rubios Ghost is real my friends. He opens the doors in the restaurant when no one was there, even the heavy 40 pound doors I have a hard time opening. Tomas, one of the cooks, thinks that the Ghost is a female and she wants him. But don't listen to Tomas, the Ghost is a guy!
But then last night, I had a thought, the phone calls are probably some teenagers doing some prank calling. And they did it all night long! Finally after about an hour and a half of the phone non stop ringing, I answered the phone and said in my creepiest voice "Helllllooooo." I then just started to laugh my head off and then the voice on the other end of the phone said, "You have 7 days. 2 PM next Thursday." Well folks looks like I've got my due date. If I don't see any of you again, I love you all. They called back again and then what creeped me out was when they said, "Teresa I see you." Okay creeps. After that they didn't call back very much just two or three times.
So pretty much work was very interesting last night. But hey at least we weren't bored when it got slow.

Cocktail, Mocktail

What do you call a bunch of BYU students gathered sipping non alcoholic cocktail drinks? A mocktail! Scooter had an end of the semester mocktail party. Everyone dressed up, gathered around the piano, sang Christmas carols and enjoyed mocktails. Scooter personally made all the drinks, ranging form peppermint twists to Shirley Temples to Bloody Mary's to margaritas.
What was one of my personal favorite parts of the evening? Hearing a little girl around the age of 8, whom I believe was Scooter's little sister, talk about the difference between mimosas and other cocktail drinks. Oh the children of the future.

After the mocktail, we went bowling in our formal wear. It reminded me of a high school prom. You get dressed up, go to the party and then go and do an activity afterwards in your nice dresses. Mo and I looked just plain ridiculous with the bowling shoes and dresses. The guys actually didn't look too shabby, especially with their matching hats and canes.
