Another Post About Home

So perk number 5341 about going home? Your little sister gets on your computer, uses your webcam and then forgets to delete the pictures. It's a good thing she's pretty and her pictures don't look too bad. Oh my spunky little sister.

And then of course I see her on my computer and go join her for picture time.

At least she makes me laugh.

You Sly Dog

What's another perk of going home for a day or two? Getting to see my baby, my puppy. Well I guess he's a year old now, so is he still considered a puppy? He still thinks that he is a puppy, if that counts for anything. He also thinks he only weighs 30 pounds, not the 90+ pounds that he actually does.
When I go home though, I try to take pictures of him all the time. I feel like after a while he gets tired of pictures, as you can tell by this picture. He's rolling his eyes at me, almost saying "Another picture???" Yes Samson, another one.

So that's when I do a sneak attack when he's sleeping.

Or someone else gets a sneak attack of both of us sleeping. And I just want to let you all know that this picture started out with us cuddling, until he pushed me away from him.

And of course, a mooching picture. It doesn't matter what it is that we have, he wants it. One time I was eating some BBQ chicken and I got up from the table to chase Samson because he stole my phone and was running around with it in his mouth. As I was running after him, he put down my phone and ran over to the table and grabbed my piece of chicken and literally ate it in 8 seconds. He swallowed it WHOLE, bones and all. Yep that's my dog. I don't even think dogs are supposed to have chicken.

Sisterly Love

I was out late Saturday night but I woke up Sunday morning to my little sister crawling in bed with me and asking me at about 7:30 in the morning if I wanted to watch a YouTube video. Her latest addiction? The "Hair Tutorial Gone Wrong". You would think she died and went to heaven every time she watched this.
And these pictures? This is pretty much all we do with our lives. Yep. True story. That or give our dog kisses. Or take pictures kissing our dog. Yep. We're pretty exciting people, I know.

But it's always nice to be able to go home and see your family. And a random note: I've noticed a growing trend of animal print clothes in my closet. What next leopard print item should I buy?

Late Night Shopping

As all my readers know, my family is a fun loving family. My little sister? A weirdo. We didn't grow up going to Target until I was probably about 14 years old and then they built one just a mile or two away. We had always heard great things about Target and were so excited. We pull up and what's the first thing my sister and the rest of my family notices? These big giant weird looking balls right out front. And like I said, my family is always very interesting. What did they think the balls looked like? Something from a tampon commercial. These my friends, are now referred to as the period balls. Don't worry I still don't get the connection with it either. But she insisted that I blog about this. I'm still not sure what to say.

Sister Taliulu

Precious enters the MTC today to serve the people of the Denver North Mission. I can honestly say that this girl is truly an inspiration to me and many other people. I went to high school with Precious and over this past summer she was getting ready to move down to Provo to attend school at UVU until she found out, only weeks before the fall semester, that her mom had Stage 4 colon cancer. I can't even imagine knowing what she was going through since she had already been through this with her dad. Precious stayed home and took care of her family, especially to help out with her two younger siblings still in high school. As time went on, the mission age was changed and she put a lot of thought into serving a mission. After much deciding she finally put in her papers.

Just like when any missionary leaves, there's a bittersweet feeling. Of course its a little different for her knowing that this is the last time Precious will see her mom here on this earth. But how lucky we are to have the knowledge of eternal families and about life after death. Precious we are all so proud of you and praying for you.

It's Juicing Time!

So I recently found myself in possession of a juicer. Let's check that off my to buy list (thank you fellow coworker for the juicer). And for a few days I've been experimenting with what "recipes" I like the best. I'm not sure if you can call them recipes because you don't really cook.
Spinach and apples? Yuck.
Spinach and carrots and apples? Yuck.
Spinach and carrots and apples and oranges? Yummmmmm.

Here's my "recipe" this yummy concoction:

-1 large orange (I bought the Sunkist brand because they were on sale)
-1 large apple (I used a Fuji apple for this one, but I'm gonna try all different types)
-7 small baby carrots
-1/4 cup of spinach

I know in the picture it looks really gross. But I promise you it tastes so much better. If you don't believe me, TRY IT! And if you still think it's gross, then maybe you're wrong...or maybe I've just got some weird taste buds. I mean I prefer turkey burgers over hamburgers. But hey they're delicious, don't knock them until you try them.
